TCI-IIMB Supply Chain Sustainability Lab is a research facility founded by Transport Corporation of India Ltd (TCI) and IIM Bangalore in the year 2023. Located within the premises of IIMB, as part of the Supply Chain Management Center at IIM Bangalore, it conducts research in areas such as decarbonization of transportation, circular economy, and sustainable procurement. The lab publishes white papers, case studies, and thought leadership articles on sustainable supply chain management topics. It also offers consulting services on carbon-related mapping, measurement, mitigation, and management, with a focus on supplier sustainability assessment.

The lab has initiated multiple research projects, white papers, and case studies, and it is partnering with other organizations in similar domains. This center of excellence is dedicated to sustainable supply chain practices, dissemination, and advocacy.

The Transportation Emissions Measurement Tool (TEMT) is a comprehensive online platform designed to measure emissions across all modes of transportation. It integrates India-specific emission factors validated through ISO 14083 certification, ensuring data accuracy and relevance. The tool allows users to calculate emissions for both past and future shipments and compare emissions between different transport modes for a given origin-destination pair. It also offers flexibility to build customized transportation chains, with all past entries securely stored in the cloud for easy monthly tracking and year-over-year comparison. The platform is commodity-agnostic and outputs in PDF and CSV formats for ease of reporting and analysis.
