Young women weightlifters from Urmila Sports Academy shine at Khelo India

 

Young women weightlifters from Urmila Sports Academy bagged two Gold & two Silver medals at the Weightlifting Competitions recently held during Khelo India Games, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, at Guwahati, Assam. Khelo India has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a nation that excels in sports. Our team from the Urmila Sports Academy performed outstandingly.
Our Proud Winners:
Gold Medalists-

Usha Kumari who lifted a total of 145 kg (63 kg in snatch & 82 kg in clean & jerk) in the under-49kg category

Ms. Boni Mangkhya under-55kg category

Silver Medalists-

Ms. Anai Wangsu under-59 kg category
Ms. Sapna Kumari who lifted a total of 140 kg (60kg in the snatch & 80 kg in the clean & jerk) in the under-49kg category

 
The Urmila Sports Academy, established at Nyangal Bari village in Churu (Dist.), Rajasthan, was founded in the year 2011 by TCI under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The academy serves as a platform to budding and seasoned athletes and helps them enhance their skills. The infrastructure and facilities of the Academy matches the international standards and are capable of being used for the conduct of National and International sports events.
